AN EVENING AT VARNHAGENS is an ar- chitecture specific videomapping resurrect- ing the life and atmosphere of the salon of the Jewish-German Rahel, Berlin’s most signifi- cant art and literary Salon Varnhagen of the 18th and 19th Century.

The projection of uses and transforms the classic shadowplays to create an illusion of the not yet existing Palais Varnhagen and to take back the audience to the time of Rahel Varn- hagen Salon. The audience will involved into an evening with Louis Ferdinand of Prussia, Friedrich Schlegel, Heinrich Heine, Tieck, Jean-Paul, Rossini and Paganini. The video- mapping is an homage to Rahel Varnhagen, who an emblematic figure of the emancipa- tion of Jews and women.
